Shorelands Home Inspection Services
Shorelands Home Inspections, LLC provides prospective home and condo buyers with all of the home inspection services they require to fully understand their new home, make informed decisions on closing the deal, and advice on repairs and maintenance. Shorelands offers all of the following services:
Our Standard, Comprehensive, Home Inspection
For all home buyers! Shorelands will inspect your home from "top-to-bottom". Your inspection includes all basic structures; the home's Exterior and Interior, Roof, Heating and A/C, Plumbing, Water Source, and Insulation, to name a few. To see how comprehensive we are, check out both our Home Inspection Checklist and/or our Sample Home Inspection Report.
Our Standard Home Inspection includes a "Termite" (Wood Destroying Insects) Inspection, plus a Radon Inspection.
Pricing for home inspections is based on the size, age, and other conditions of the property, so Shorelands provides an exact quote for each inspection.

In addition to our Standard Home Inspection, your property (depending on location) may need other inspection services. We can advise you on which of these services are appropriate for your home when you call. Many of these services depend on the area in which your home is located.
Condominium Inspections
Condos, new or previously owned, are given the same comprehensive inspection as a home. For condominium inspections, however, you do not usually need a "Termite Inspection" (Wood Destroying Insects) or a Radon Inspection. Please contact Shorelands Home Inspections, LLC with any questions regarding your impending Condo purchase.
Termite Inspection (Wood Destroying Insects)
Termite damage, or similar damage done by other Wood Destroying Insects, can seriously undermine the health of your new home. These tests should be conducted by trained Termite Inspectors (licensed by CT or NY). We will be happy to arrange for a Termite Inspection if your property needs it. It is usually included in our Standard Home Inspection, and can be conducted at the same time as your home inspection.
RADON Testing
Shorelands usually includes a Radon Test for all homes (not condos) as part of our Standard Home Inspection. If requested or required, Shorelands will also perform a Continuous Radon Monitoring Test (fastest method in 48 hours - no lab testing required) . For more information on Radon and Radon Home Inspection Testing, please visit this web site: www.epa.gov
Water Testing
Certain areas do not have access to "city" water, and use wells instead. Depending on your location and type of well, Shorelands will gather a wide variety of water samples for analysis. These samples will be sent to a certified lab for testing, and we will advise you of the results.
Free "Lifetime Consulting" for All Shorelands Customers
Every Shorelands Home Inspection customer also receives free "LIfetime Consulting" services. If you have any questions (at any time that you own the home we have inspected) about any aspect of your home, you may call us for a free consultation. Our satisfied customers use this service to help indentify problems in the home (sometimes years after the inspection), find out how to correct it, and/or find qualified local professionals to fix the problem at a reasonable cost.
Lead Paint Inspections
Shorelands does not perform lead paint inspections. These specialized types of inspection are best left to a state certified lead inspector or by taking paint chips to a certified lead testing laboratory. Please call with any questions about this.
Energy Audits
Energy savings... "... my home is so old and leaky, I can't save any money.. I just have to live with it..." A nice gentleman from Norwalk told me that recently. His home was built in the 70's.. you remember bell bottoms and... the Bee Gees...
My friend is right, when his home was built energy conservation was just a thought in, soon to be, President Carter's head (the first energy conscience president)... But he is wrong too. He can save real dollars with the right energy upgrades and improvements. And, those improvements can actually pay for themselves...
With a home Energy Audit from Shorelands Home Inspections I will show you just how much you can save with improvements.
